Stand By Hindi Movie Review

Story:

Like Yash Raj’s film ‘Chak De India’ in this film too the ambitious coach dreams to come up with a team that’s built on true merit and not politics. The coach urges the football federation to keep sports and politics poles apart. But alas it takes only one business man to lure the authorities away. A famous business man wants his son to be in the playing XI in the place of a real talented but poor boy in the national football team.

Analysis and Technicalities:

Marathi film industry’s renowned filmmaker Sanjay Surkar has helmed this film and we must say despite of few shortcomings the director has managed to come up with a decent film. The technology in the film is poor as the kind of effects expected in a sport film isn’t utilized in this one that makes it disappointing.

Performances:

Actors like Adinath Kothare and Sachin Khedekar have delivered commendable performances in the film. Siddharth Kher has comparatively performed poorly than his earlier work. The background score lacks the punch that a usual sport’s film should possess. The film would have been an underperformer if not for Sanjay’s smooth hand at direction that makes it a decent watch.

Plus Points:

- Acting
- Direction

Minus Points:

- Poor editing
- Effects
- Cinematography
- Screenplay

Verdict: Watch it for the performances and a decent storyline.
