Salman Khan Bodyguard Movie Review

Story:

The film revolves around Lovely Singh aka Salman Khan, a dutiful ‘Bodygurad’ whose job is to protect Divya played by Kareena Kapoor who is the daughter of a business tycoon Sartaj Rana played by Raj Babbar.

Divya is annoyed by the fact that ‘Bodyguard’ Lovely’s presence is haunting her freedom and hence to divert his mind else where she decides to throw a trap of a fake love story. She calls Lovely by a fake name and expresses her love for him. At a point she even succeeds in diverting his mind. But on the course of all these confusions she discovers an unusual facet of Lovely’s life that remained unseen forever.

The film just before climax takes unusual turns and twists which makes it an interesting masala film with a relatable plot.

Analysis:

Despite of it being considered as an action film the film is a love story at heart. True to Salman’s words, the film reminds you of his romantic films that ruled the roots in his peak years as chocolate boy. And apart from Salman, Kareena’s claims too have proved fruitful as her character in the film is not just a love interest of the protagonist but it is equally parallel in terms of lead.

Performances:

Both Kareena and Salman prove their mettle as a couple and have successfully delivered one of their best performances of their respective career. Kareena has not only looked gorgeous on screen but her acting in the film is also as flawless as her reminiscing beauty. Salman in fact has delivered powerful as well as content performance in the film. After a long time has he got a film to showcase his acting skills rather than just the chiseled body and the beautiful face.

Raj Babbar and Rajat Rawali are decent in their performances whereas Aditya Pancholi and Katrina Kaif’s short special appearances in the film are as strong as they were expected to be.

Technicalities:

Director Siddique who also wrote the story and the screenplay of the film has done a perfect job in helming the film for the third time as before the Hindi version, one more film has been remade in a South Indian language apart from the original that was also directed by him. He has very cleverly injected Salman Khan’s personality traits in the film to gel with the plot of the romantic-action flick. The necessary amendments made in the film’s screenplay add power to the story as the polishing makes it more edgy and appealing for the Bollywood cinema lover.

From editing to narration the film has winner written all over it. With this one Salman has slammed his critics who criticized him for his no-brainer comedy-masala films. The Music of the film deserves special credit as Himesh Reshammiya has made a full throttle comeback to Bollywood with a powerful album in the name of ‘Bodyguard’. Pritam’s composed ‘I Love You’ too is soft and easy on ears.

Plus Points:

- Performancez
- Technicalties
- Katrina Kaif’s cameo
- Music

Final Word: The film is a perfect family entertainer and an ideal release for a festive occasion. ‘Bodygard’ will successfully enthrall you to the core.
